Why is the Mass so important? Why do we stand, sit, and kneel at specific times during the Mass? Where did the prayers we say at Mass come from? When does Jesus actually become present in his Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity? How do I pray better at Mass?

In this series of blog posts, Fr. Luke Spannagel walks us through the Mass answering these and many other questions about the Mass.

La Biblia en un año
Podcast

“La Biblia en un año” guía a los católicos por la Biblia con un episodio diario durante 365 días. A diferencia de otros podcasts de la Biblia, el podcast sigue un plan de lectura basado en el sistema de aprendizaje de la Cronología de la Biblia® de The Great Adventure, con un enfoque innovador para comprender la historia de la salvación. El sistema ha sido desarrollado por el reconocido profesor de Biblia Jeff Cavins.

Prayer Board
Can be found in the church vestibule

Whether you carry a personal burden, a family matter, or the concern of someone dear to you, we warmly encourage you to share it on this Prayer Board. Simply inscribe your prayer request on the provided paper, enclose it in the envelope provided, and then pin the envelope to the Prayer Board. Together, let us elevate these petitions in unison, as they will be placed on the altar and included in our collective prayers during the Healing Mass every month. Through this practice, we aim to cultivate a vibrant and engaged prayer community that mirrors the boundless love of Christ.

If you would like to make your prayer request anonymous you are welcome to do so.

At the end of each day or sooner, Sr. Angelicah will open the prayer requests and will determine who will pray for who/what or the mode of prayer to be offered for each request.

Each month’s prayer requests will close with the Healing Mass on the First Thursday of the Month where all the intentions will be placed at the Altar to be offered to the Lord during the Healing Holy Mass.

Prayer Chain

St. Pius X Parish Prayer Chain is made of parishioners who are ever open, ready, and willing to faithfully pray for any prayer intentions/requests that come in through our prayer chain email address: spxprayerchain@stpius.org.

This prayer chain is used for prayers of petition, gratitude, and to express solidarity and support during good and not so good times.

If you feel called to join this noble ministry, please send in an email to the Prayer Chain email address (spxprayerchain@stpius.org) with your name and preferred email address. You will then start to receive requests as they come in.
