COME & SEE: HOW A BIG DREAM IS MADE!
SATURDAY, JANUARY 17
DATE: Saturday, January 17, 2026
TIME: 9:30am to 11am
WHERE: St. Pius X Catholic Church
1280 NW Saltzman Road, Portland, OR 97229

Hosted by Columbia-Willamette Women of Vision
Dana: 503-550-8652
Chris: 503-880-7832
Since World Vision launched the Big Dream to End Child Marriage program, the impact has been transformational. Whole communities are saying no to child marriage. But how does a dream for change become a life-changing program? Come and learn all about it from Kristi Gleason, Director of Child Protection and Education for World Vision U.S. She will join us live via video to explain how she and her team led the work to design this life-changing program. There will be time for guests to ask her questions after her presentation.
World Vision is a strong advocate for girls around the world, wanting all girls to experience the fullness of life God created them to enjoy. In many large regions of Kenya, girls as young as 10 are cut (female genital mutilation) and married off to older men in order to bring material wealth to their families through the dowry system. And in Bangladesh, the child marriage prevalence rate is over 50%. The dreams of thousands of girls end there as they must drop out of school and often face a lifetime of health problems. But we can change this! Come and see how a big dream is made.
Our program begins at 9:45am. Arrive at 9:15am to enjoy an extended social time! Women only please.
