ST. Vincent De Paul

St. Vincent de Paul seeks to respond to the call every Christian receives to bring the love of Christ to those in need: “I was hungry and you gave me food” (Matthew 25). No work of charity is foreign to the Society. The St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Pius X, with the support of time, talent, and treasure from the parish community, is able to offer the following services:

  • Provide a grocery market allowing people to shop for food,

  • Provide rent and utility assistance, 

  • Supply backpacks with food to children in need at a local school, and

  • Organize the annual Christmas program, which provides food boxes and gifts for over 100 families through a food drive and Giving Tree.

Are you in need of Assistance?

Food Pantry (By Appointment only)

The market style food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30am to 12pm. To make an appointment, please call the parish office at (503) 644-5264 or Care to Share at (503) 591-9025.

We have adopted procedures recommended by the Oregon Food Bank to maintain safety.

Rent & Utility Assistance

If you need help paying rent or a utility bill contact the SVDP at (971) 202-0515 or at stpius.assistance@gmail.com. Please note that SVDP can only assist those within the parish boundaries. 

The SVDP IS ACCEPTING DONATIONS!

Money

Financial donations can made through the “Donate to SVDP” button.

Food

We are looking for the following unexpired, unopened, canned / packaged foods:

  • Pasta

  • Pasta Sauce

  • Oil

  • Tuna

  • Canned Peas

  • Canned Tomato Sauce

  • Canned Peaches

Please place donations in the blue donation barrel in the entryway to the pantry building.

Other items

We are looking for the following personal care and cleaning items:

  • Tooth Brushes

  • Tooth Paste

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Bath Soap

  • Laundry Soap

  • Dish Detergent

  • Cleanser
