Ash Wednesday

February 10. Mass Times:

  • 6:30 am - Communion Service only. Includes distribution of ashes.

  • 8:15 am

  • 9:30 am (includes school)

  • 5:30 pm

  • 7:30 pm (Spanish language). 

 

Matthew Kelly's "Best Lent Ever"

Join the Parish in preparing for Easter by signing up for Matthew Kelly’s Best Lent Ever . He will send daily reflections on the book that we handed out at Christmas.

If you are looking for a small Faith Sharing group to discuss the book, groups are meeting on Sunday morning, Monday night and Thursday nights. Contact Paul Ditter or Molly Washburn to sign up. Additional books are available at the Information Counter in the Vestibule.

 

Friday Stations of the Cross

Every Friday from February 12 through March 18, at 5:30 pm.

 

Soup Suppers

6:15 pm in the Community Center. 

We will share a simple family friendly meal of homemade soups, breads, macaroni and cheese, and peanut butter sandwiches. We will pray together and eat together, followed by a short program for adults and activities for the children. Donations are collected for Operation Rice Bowl, which is the Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program that reaches out to people in our own neighborhoods as well as around the world.

 

Parish Lenten Mission on theme of Mercy

Fr. Richard Berg, CSC, has returned to lead our Parish Mission again this year.

The final session on Wednesday, February 24, at 7:00 pm, will be in the Church Hall. All are welcome.

 

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)

  • Monday, March 14, at 7:00 pm is our Lenten Communal Reconciliation Service.
    Many priests will be on hand to hear confessions.

  • Saturday Confessions are 3:30-4:30 pm, but will not be heard on Holy Saturday, March 26.

 

Chrism Mass for Archdiocese

Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 7:00 PM, at St. Mary Cathedral on NW 18th & Couch St., Portland.

 

Palm Sunday Weekend Masses (March 19th & 20th)

We will follow our normal weekend Mass Schedule:

  • Saturday 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm (Spanish)

  • Sunday 7:30 am, 8:45 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm (Spanish), 5:30 pm (Youth), 8:30 pm

 

Morning Prayer Services 

Morning Prayer will be celebrated on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday at 8:15 am.

 

Holy Thursday (March 24th)

  • Mass is 7:00 pm (bilingual).

  • Afterwards, pray until midnight with the Blessed Sacrament in the Community Center.

 

Good Friday Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion (March 25th)

  • Liturgies are at 5:30 pm English; 7:30 pm Spanish.

  • Catholics between ages 18 and 59 fast on Good Friday, which means only one full meal and up to two smaller meals.
    Liquids are allowed. Catholics 14 and older abstain from meat.

 

Easter Vigil (March 26th)

Mass begins at 8:00 pm.

Our most festive, solemn Mass of the year. Gather around the Easter bonfire, process with the light of Christ into the Church, hear the singing of the Exsultet and the proclamation of the Scriptures of salvation. Celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist with the newly initiated.

 

Easter Sunday  (March 27th)
Masses are at:

7:30 am, 9:15 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm Spanish,

5:30 pm (“Youth” Mass), 8:30 pm.
