Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 for the purpose of aiding Catholic men to remain steadfast in their faith through mutual encouragement, to promote fraternity among them, to provide financial assistance for their widows and orphans and to promote the knightly ideals of spirituality and service to Church, country and fellow man.  Their principles are charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism and the St. Pius X Council accepts the forgoing as its mission in promoting peace and justice.

The Archives Team organizes some of the parish memorabilia and photos of parish events.

Lenten Soup Suppers

Parishioners of all ages are invited to a simple supper on the Fridays of Lent, hosted by various parish groups. Activities for children and programs for adults follow supper. Donations in support of Operation Rice Bowl are collected.

Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)

Volleyball, basketball & track are offered to boys and girls in grades 4 through 12 who attend St. Pius School or parishioners who attend public schools.  Parent volunteers or CYO Team members serve as coaches, snack bar staff and scorekeepers.

Parish members have the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of Lent with this traditional, fun family event.

Elizabeth Ministries

Elizabeth Ministries support women and their families during the joys, trials and sorrows of the childbearing years. These women are willing to share their presence, stories, and experience with other women through visits, phone calls, cards, prayers, resources and assistance. This ministry includes the Rosebud Program, Sacred Steps Program, Martha Ministry Cook-off and Healing/Memorial Mass.

Marriage Encounter

A weekend experience that enhances and deepens your marriage sacrament. Three married couples and a priest present each Marriage Encounter weekend experience. Various weekends are offered each year to new participants throughout the Portland Metro area. St. Pius X couples who have already experienced an Encounter weekend are invited to join other couples in a social meeting every 2 months.

Filipino Community

Regular fellowship gatherings meet the fourth Sunday of each month. The team is active in Social Concerns and Peace Ministry.

Parish Picnic
This event calls together all of the many aspects of our parish community to share an afternoon of fellowship, family activities and a mass in honor of our patron, St. Pius X. The picnic occurs sometime in mid-September.

Hispanic Community

Actively serves the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Hispanic Community that identify themselves with St. Pius X parish. Sunday Mass is celebrated at 12:30 PM.

Potluck Groups
A great opportunity to make new friends in your church community while enjoying good food and great conversation. Participants are randomly assigned each Fall or Spring season to a small group of 8-10 adults that meets monthly in each other's homes until all members of the group have had a chance to host.

Hispanic Marriage Encounter

Hispanic Marriage Encounter is a weekend experience designed to give Hispanic married couples the opportunity to learn how to communicate better in their relationship with each other and with God.

Senior Bridge Group
Social bridge is held every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (bring your own lunch) at St. Pius. No partner is necessary and newcomers are always welcome. Call to reserve your seat at the table.

Hospitality Team

St. Pius X Hospitality Team seeks to provide an environment where no one will ever be a stranger, reaching out not only to parishioners but to the surrounding community to invite them into the Body of Christ; to be witnesses of Christ’s presence in nurturing hospitality so that it permeates the hearts and souls of all who come into our sacred space. The Team hosts a "Welcoming Tour" quarterly.

Senior Valentines Day Lunch
The parish staff hosts this event for those valued members of our community who are 75 and older. It is held on or near the feast of St. Valentine in February.

Singles Group
Meets the third Sunday of each month for brunch at 11:30 a.m. in the Community Center. The team participates in many activities in the Portland area. All single, divorced, widowed Christians 50 and over are welcome.

Hospitality - Greeters
The Greeters Team welcomes parishioners as they enter the church building at weekend Masses and helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the church. Greeters are scheduled to offer welcome at one Mass each month.

Stewardship
Each member of the St. Pius X community is called to participate as a steward of the parish by participation in prayer, parish life and services, and financial support of the parish. The Stewardship Team assesses and makes recommendation for opportunities for parishioners in each of these three areas.

Hospitality - Newcomers Welcome
The Newcomers Welcome Team helps to create a positive experience for new parishioners at St. Pius X. Team members may meet and greet new parishioners at weekend Mass, help new members with information and ways to connect, and organize social events for newcomers.

Women’s Club

Gathers women together in a social atmosphere for spiritual, emotional and physical support while providing service to the parish. The individuality of the membership is celebrated through the wide appeal of our educational presentations, fellowship, fundraising, volunteer opportunities and prayer.

Kids Play
Meets Wednesdays in the Community Center from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Parents with children ages 0 – 5 years are welcome for a morning of play and fellowship.

Young Adults

This is a group that is for all single and married young adults ages 18-40.  It meets regularly for social service, and faith-based gatherings.  A yearly spiritual retreat is offered in February.

Young Family Life

This group is dedicated to continued faith formation and activities for young families. Events include Moms groups, Easter egg hunts, Bible Studies and more.
